Toads are AMPHIBIANS, This means that they
can live both on land and in water.
Toads are found all over the world except
in very cold lands that are always frozen.
There are hundreds of different kinds of
toads. Toads breathe through their skin
aswell as their LUNGS. It is important that
they keep their skins wet, if the skin
becomes too dry they would die.
This is why you will never find either a
FROG or toad too far away from water.
Toads feed on insects, grubs and slugs. They
catch their food with their long tongues.
Larger toads are also known to eat snakes,
and small animals, as well as insects etc.
Toads skin is rough, dry and lumpy. They can
live in dryer places than frogs and stay out
of water for much longer periods.
